WHO IS GUBBIO?
The Gubbio Project is housed at St. John the Evangelist Church in the Mission neighborhood and St. Boniface Church in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood, which combined, hold over half of the City’s homeless population. The Project currently provides critical services to an average of 320 individuals per day through a highly unique and successful model that combines social justice, peer support, and harm reduction. At the center of Gubbio’s programming is Sacred Sleep, where our guests are provided with a safe, clean place to sleep on the pews and mats of the churches from 6 am – 2 pm, Monday through Friday.
WHO IS SYMPHONIA CARITAS?
Symphonia Caritas is a professional orchestra whose mission is to improve the lives of those in need. We perform benefit concerts for our partner organizations as well as free concerts for the underserved. Symphonia Caritas has partnered with The Gubbio Project twice before - at Gubbio's Anniversary Brunch in January, and performing La Clemenza di Tito with Opera on Tap in 2017. There is a deep connection between community building and the expression of the arts, and The Gubbio Project is grateful to Symphonia Caritas for bringing our community together in the presence of such beauty.
