"In the inner stillness where meditation leads, the Spirit secretly anoints the soul and heals our deepest wounds."
-ST. JOHN OF THE CROSS
In the midst of your busy life, take a few minutes on Tuesday morning to find some stillness and experience silence. Take a break from the relentless pace and stress of daily life. You don't have to be an experienced meditator to attend, and you're free to use the silence of our Sacred Pause in any way you like. We'll have resources to help you practice if you need help, poetry, readings, inspirational photography-but the format will be simple and open: a greeting, a candle, a bell, twenty minutes of silence. In the spiritual traditions of the West and the East, meditation is an essential way to make us fully present to God, to ourselves, and to creation. Christian contemplation is attuning ourselves to God's presence by simply being fully conscious in the present moment. Whether you call it meditation or contemplation, you are welcome to join us for a Sacred Pause.
This Event is in the Stone Chapel; across from the Four Seasons. All are invited to drop in occasionally or make this an ongoing weekly practice Sacred Pause is hosted by the Replogle Center for Counseling and Well-Being, committed to providing programs that promote the healing of body, mind, and spirit. The Replogle Center offers learning opportunities to help cultivate a deeper, calmer, and more fulfilling life.
Sacred Pause is supported by a grant from the Trust for the Meditation Process, committed to supporting contemplative practice as it awakens us to the sacredness of all life and to the inner stillness which reveals God's presence in us.
