Bravo! Concerts Northwest presents “The Sacred Jazz of Dave Brubeck” – a concert featuring the sacred jazz of the acclaimed American pianist and composer Dave Brubeck. This concert includes music from Dave Brubeck’s jazz pieces for choir and quartet, including: A Light in the Wilderness; To Hope: A Celebration; The Gates of Justice; and Beloved Son. Dave Brubeck (1920-2012) is recognized by musicians and music lovers alike as one of the most innovative and groundbreaking American jazz artists. He also composed some of the most important sacred jazz of the 20th century for choir and jazz ensembles. This concert features drummer Dan Brubeck — Dave Brubeck’s son— and his Dan Brubeck Jazz Quartet in collaboration with the 40-voice Bravo! Northwest Chorale, led by conductors Maria Manzo and Michael Kissinger.
