About this event

53rd Annual Oktoberfest at the Turner Hall

 Friday & Saturday, October 7th and 8th 2022

The Sacramento Turn Verein will hold its 53rd Annual Oktoberfest at Turner Hall, a celebration patterned after the world-famous Oktoberfest in Munich. The largest folk festival in the world has been a Bavarian tradition for 200 years.

Many Sacramentans have come to anticipate the Turn Verein’s Oktoberfest because they know they can enjoy traditional German music, food and drink that they can find only at this event. The Sacramento Turners host the best Oktoberfest in the Sacramento area.

Entertainment includes German band Gruber Family Band in the Main Hall , AKA LIVE the rock-& roll band upstairs in the Festhall, the Alpenmeisters in the Biergarten and performances by the Alpentänzer Schuhplattlers.

Friday evening doors open at 6:00 p.m. with food service and bar available, dancing from 7:00 until 11:30 p.m. The Turn Verein’s Kaffeehaus and outdoor Biergarten will be open throughout the evening, offering German food specialties. On Saturday the Oktoberfest will observe expanded hours by opening at 3:00 p.m. with all activities available to enjoy until 11:30 p.m.

Kegs of authentic Oktoberfest beer, shipped directly from Munich, will be available for all to enjoy.

General admission for adults is $20.00; children 6 to 12, $5.00; no charge for children under 6.

Note to the curious:

At the opening ceremony of the Munich Oktoberfest, the mayor of Munich traditionally deals three strong blows to tap the first keg, followed by the Bavarian shout, “O ‘zapft is’!” (It’s tapped!). With that the Oktoberfest officially begins. Sacramento’s Oktoberfest will be opened with a similar ceremony and a grand flag march. We’ve invited local dignitaries to perform the traditional keg-tapping ritual.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Yes please, present your ticket at our VIP Admission. We can scan from your phone screen, but scanning from paper just seems to work better.

 What is the refund policy?

Your ticket purchase can be canceled via Eventbrite up to the day before your ticket Admission date.

The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?

Yes, We understand that one guest may purchase a group or block of tickets with their name on each ticket. We request that each guest have an individual ticket for Admission. Please be aware that we cannot scan tickets for guests that are not in attendance. If you've got folks coming later, please don't get their tickets scanned - we will not hand out wristbands for guests that are not present.

What is the value of a Food/Drink Ticket?

Each on-line Food/Drink purchase is for a group of 20 tickets valued at $2 for each ticket. These tickets can be used at any location at the Oktoberfest to purchase food and beverages. Additional Food/Drink tickets may be purchased during the Fest.

If eventbrite is no longer selling tickets does that mean the event is sold out?

No, ticket becoming unavailable at Eventbrite means we've sold the amount we've allotted for Eventbrite sales. We will offer a limited number of entry tickets for sale at the door. Our events are very popular and we do expect to reach capacity. When some guests leave, we are able to allow new guests in.
