Event description

Description

Join us for our annual Red Ribbon Luncheon as we celebrate 60 years of substance use prevention, intervention, and recovery services for children and adults in our community. Our keynote speaker will be RICHARD TURNER, renowned as one of the world's greatest card manipulators, yet he is completely blind. Richard states, "When I started going blind at 9, I was teased and rejected by my classmates - except for the druggies, which led to substance abuse. But, then I was set free due to intervention and the love of God." While performing, Richard will tell of his struggles with drugs as an adolescent and how he overcame it through faith and by focusing on the perfection of his talent.

Lunch will be prepared by Rosemary's Catering. We will have a raffle with some amazing prizes. All proceeds will benefit the prevention, intervention, and recovery programs at the San Antonio Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse. Help us celebrate this milestone!

Registration begins at 11:00 a.m. Program will begin promptly at 11:30 a.m.

For questions, contact Velda Schalk, Development Director, at vschalk@sacada.org or (210) 225-4741.

NOTE: Richard was recently on the premiere of Penn & Teller: Fool Us television show. To see his performance, go to https://youtu.be/TwFIJyWKs1k (highlight link, then right click to go to site)
