Story Swap Genre Storytelling Series

SAC Members from various Storytelling groups around California will be telling stories at these events, held once each month on the third Wednesday of the month. Each event will highlight stories from different genres, such as Personal, Folktale, Historical, Tall Tale, Myth, Fable, Fantasy, and more. Stories will be approximately 10 minutes long. As of August 2021 this is now a SAC MEMBER BENEFIT EXCLUSIVE! That means that SAC members are free. All others will be asked to purchase a ticket at a price of at least $5 in order to get the log-in details. Consider becoming a member of SAC, as if you attend six of these in the upcoming series, you've covered your membership fee! And there are many other benefits, as well. See our "JOIN SAC"

The reason for the minimum ticket price is that we are providing the tellers an honorarium of $50 for their efforts, and your ticket purchase help to reduce the amount that SAC contributes from the General Fund.

We will be cross-checking SAC Member registrations against the current SAC Membership List, and if you are not a member in good standing, you will be notified prior to the event and may not be admitted or removed from the session if dues are not yet paid or a ticket hasn't been purchased.

The deadline for being considered to tell is the 7th of the month. The information required from all prospective tellers is: Teller's Name, Teller's email, Story Title, a short 2 or 3 sequence biography, the name of their Swap Group, and the email of their Swap Group's lead contact person.

Selected tellers will be offered a $50 honorarium. If a teller is not currently a SAC member, the honorarium will automatically be applied toward a 2-year SAC membership. Any future performances by the same teller will have other options available to them.
