Frequently Asked Questions
What should I bring?
All program materials will be provided. We do encourage you to bring a personal water bottle or container if you have one.
What should I wear?
Dress comfortably for the day, but keep in mind you will be interacting with professionals from the university, schools and city organizations and businesses. If you plan to participate in the FoodChain tour, be sure to wear/bring weather appropriate attire for the short walk from our campus.
I don't attend school in the Lexington area, but I am really interested in attending.
If you are visiting the Lexington area that week and really want to attend, contact Diane Fout at (859)233-8133.
Is there a minimum age requirement to attend?
No, as long as you are currently enrolled in high school. However, participants under the age of 18 will need a parent/legal guardian to sign your participation form.
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Participants will need to provide their own transportation to and from campus. Parking information will be provided to registered participants prior to the event.
What if I have food allergies or other preferences?
Just let us know! Although we can't guarantee they will contain local or Kentucky Proud items, our food service provider, Sodexo, can provide gluten-free, vegetarian and other meal options on request.
Do I have to bring my printed registration to the event?
No, we will have your name on our list of registered participants.
Can I update my registration information?
Yes. If you are having difficulty, just contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call Diane Fout at (859)233-8133.
Is it ok if the name on my registration doesn't match the person who attends?
We prefer to have your name on the registration. If someone is planning to attend in your place, please let us know so we can be prepared for them.
