Description

Join the Relias Women in Leadership Initiative for our inaugural event!

To be successful in today’s modern business world, leaders must understand the dynamics of power and influence and the effects they have on their organizations. Managing your power and influence is essential in leading your organization towards its established goals.

Power is the ability to effectively get things done in your organization. Effective leaders understand where their power comes from, the amount of power they have, and how to use this power to influence those around them. The amount of power a leader has determines the amount of influence they have on others in their organization so it’s important to know where this power comes from.

Navigating organizational politics, obstacles, and corruption are essential in avoiding the most common derailers in organizations today. This talk by Dr. Mabel Miguel will explore power and influence and how to use these as effective tools to achieve personal and organizational goals.

Dr. Mabel Miguel is Clinical Professor of Organizational Behavior and Director of the Global Business Center at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School. She has developed and taught leadership skill courses for such organizations as the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, ExxonMobil, and Caterpillar.

This event will begin with networking between 11:30 AM and 12:00 PM. Free lunch will be available. The presentation will begin promptly at 12:00 PM
