Rwanda's genocide killed more people in the shortest amount of time than any other in world history. Mass murder consumed the lives of over 800,000 Rwandans in 1994, it is often summed up as intense hatred between Hutu and Tutsis. Many scholars have not addressed the intense geopolitical rivalry between the United States and France over this East African nation's strategic location.
