Description

Please join us for the 8th Annual Women’s Leadership Conference hosted by the Rutgers Women's Leadership Coalition and the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy. The 2019 conference, “Taking Charge of Change," will highlight the many ways that women have used their skills, voices, and careers to advance social change. We are thrilled to announce that our keynote will be NAOMI KLEIN, the Gloria Steinem Chair in Media, Culture, and Feminist Studies, and author of the recent "This Changes Everything: Climate vs. Capitalism." Our other panels and workshops will focus on tools of grassroots activism, running for elected office, and alumni careers as they relate to change-making.

Donations of grocery store (Stop & Shop is best) gift cards in $5 or $10 dollar increments are requested on behalf of Dina's Dwelling, a local New Jersey non-profit providing permanent supportive housing to survivors of domestic violence and their families. If you wish to make a donation via venmo, please send money to @caitjolm with the subject 'WLC Dina's Dwelling'. Thank you!

About Dina’s Dwellings: The Town Clock Community Development Corporation recently converted part of the First Reformed Church of New Brunswick into individual apartment units for survivors and their children. Assisting those impacted by domestic violence is integral to the church's mission and has its roots in a 1970s fire set by a man whose partner had sought refuge in the church. Dina’s Dwelling continues to give shelter and support to survivors by providing safe, affordable permanent housing and supportive services to assist survivors on their path to healing and rebuilding healthy lives.
