Event description

Description

The RussVegas Sprint Triathlon, in Russellville, AR, is another great race put on by The RussVegas Foot Races Foundation, who also brings you the RussVegas Half Marathon. Expect the same organization, support, and fun all aimed to benefit Arkansas Children's Hospital and the River Vally Circle of Friends. 2018 is going to be a year of a more traditional race with an 8am start time to try to beat the heat! Racers should come prepared for a smooth, no turn, spectator friendly swim. Followed by a rolling bike ride with a long decent to get your legs ready for a PR fast run full of shade, and no hills! Everybody says it but we really mean it, with the Kids Tri on Saturday morning and the Sprint on Sunday -- The RussVegas Triathlon weekend will be fun for the whole family!

Course Info

Event Location - located at Pleasant View Park, one of the many fine recreational areas located on and around Lake Dardanelle.

Swim Course - (500 yards) The swim will be the most spectator friendly swim course that you will find. After entering the water in a wave swim start you will swim horizontally along the bank to the exit point where your friends and family can watch/track you throughout your entire swim! Additionally, with no turns or curves, you will only have the exit buoy to worry about sighting throughout your swim!

Transition - We will have a single transition area with plenty of space to maneuver and bike racks which give you ample space for gear.

Bike Course - (15 miles) The bike course is a modified out and back course that begins with a 1 mile flat exit out of transistion after going left on Pleasant View Rd. It then continues with a left turn going N on Hwy 7 until a right turn on CenterValley Road. The course takes a left turn onto Golden Pond Drive, left on Widgeon Road, right on Wake Robin Road, and then a left on Round Rock Road. Once on Round Rock Road, continue to Hwy 7 and turn right heading N on Hwy 7. The course goes on N Hwy 7 until the turn around just before entering the city of Dover. The ride to Dover and back is an enjoyable rolling route that is generally up on the way out and then down on the way back. After riding the return route from Dover, riders will turn right on Pleasant View Rd and then finish by entering back into the park.

Run Course - (3.1 Miles) The run course is a very flat and fast single loop modified out and back course with plenty of shade! You will exit transition, still in the park, where you will be easily visible to friends and family as you head out on this flat course. After exiting the park you will be running on a wide paved trail that has many views of the infamous Lake Dardanelle Strip Pit area! Map of run course
