Description

The Alfa Fellowship Program invites you to an evening of networking and book discussion with Dr. Andrew Monaghan, Senior Research Fellow in the Russia and Eurasia Programme at Chatham House and Visiting Fellow at the Changing Character of War Programme at Pembroke College, Oxford. Dr. Monaghan will speak about his new book, The New Politics of Russia: Interpreting Change. Copies of the book will be available for sale at the event. The conversation will be moderated by Dr. Dana Brown, Principal of the Leicester Castle Business School at De Montfort University.

This event provides an excellent opportunity for prospective Alfa Fellowship Program applicants to learn about the program and meet alumni, and for all others to network with like-minded individuals and learn more about Dr. Monaghan's work.

The event will take place on Thursday, September 29 at 12 Hay Hill in Mayfair, London.

The Alfa Fellowship Program is a high-level professional development initiative placing up to 18 American, British, and German citizens per year in work assignments at leading organizations in Russia in the fields of business, economics, journalism, law, public policy, and related areas. Key goals of the Alfa Fellowship Program are expanding networks of American, British, and German professionals, developing greater intercultural understanding, and advancing knowledge of Russian affairs in the West. The program includes language instruction, a seminar series with key public and private sector officials and a work placement in Moscow at a private company, media outlet, think tank, or foundation. The program is funded by Alfa-Bank and is administered in the U.S., U.K., and Germany by Cultural Vistas, and in Moscow by the Fund for International Fellowships and Cultural Dialogue.
