LIGHT LUNCH

Open discussion – focus on questions 3 and 4 (see below)

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:

What types of econometric analysis best help us understand the contribution of rural regions to the Ontario economy?

What is the utility of non-metro GDP/rural GDP data in comparison to other forms of regional analysis, such as income distribution, sectoral employment LQs, or regional value chains.

What lessons learned can we take from experiences participants in the Symposium have with preparing information or studies for policy makers and other types of decision-makers in terms of sharing information of this kind?

Are there emerging data visualization tools or knowledge mobilization platforms that could help broaden interest and understanding of this information? What strategies could be followed to reach key audiences? Examples?
