Event description

Description

Runaways is an inspired musical collage about young people who are estranged from their families and searching for themselves. Written, composed, choreographed and originally directed by Elizabeth Swados, about the lives of children who run away from home and live on the city streets, the characters were taken from workshops conducted by Swados with real-life runaways in the late 1970s.

Presented as an inspirational concert to raise funds and awareness about youth homelessness in our community, and the many organizations offering help and hope, Vanguard is raising funds for Covenant House, and food donations for the Human Needs Food Pantry and Toni's Kitchen. Montclair Film is partnering with us by showing relevant films during the weekend.
