Run the Whispers 2019 - Whispering Meadows 5K benefiting HFTD and SPS
Event Information
Description
2nd Annual "Run The Whispers Charity 5K"
Saturday August 24th, 2019 come "Run the Whispers" 5K again on our newly paved roads within Whispering Meadows subdivision. This event and community party are held to show support towards the efforts of our local Ward 3 Alderman, Joel Frieders, who not only "paved" the way towards the finishing of our sad pothole ridden neighborhood roads, but more importantly began a movement to start a nationwide conversation about suicide prevention by founding the National Suicide Prevention + Action Month Proclamation. The goal of the proclamation was to promote awareness of the suicide prevention resources available within the community, and to encourage others to simply be available to those around them by learning how to discuss suicide without increasing the risk of harm. By removing the stigma that surrounds those conversations, opportunities are created to reduce and prevent these traumatic occurrences.
