About the organizer

Community Reach of Montgomery County (formerly CMR - Community Ministries of Rockville) seeks to improve the quality of life for the most vulnerable of Montgomery County residents by providing them with basic health and human services and advocating on their behalf, with the goal of helping them achieve and maintain self-sufficiency.

We operate five separate programs: 1) Mansfield Kaseman Health Clinic delivers primary medical care, preventive services, patient navigation, specialty care, and health education to medically underserved adult residents of Montgomery County; 2) Language Outreach Program (LOP) provides English Language/Literacy and Citizenship education to adult immigrants in an affordable program that includes free child care and child tutoring; 3) Permanent Supportive Housing Program consists of two houses, the Jefferson House (men) and Rockland House (women) which support our previously homeless residents as they work toward self-sufficiency; 4) Rockville Emergency Assistance Program (REAP) steps in with financial assistance to Greater Rockville residents facing eviction, utility termination, or who are in need of prescriptions or medical procedures; as well as providing social service referrals (dental and vision care, clothing, and food) to any County resident; and 5) Senior Reach Program provides weekly home care services and home repair/maintenance projects for lower income seniors to aging in place.
