Run for Boston 5k
Saturday, June 15, 2013 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM (CDT)
The Run for Boston 5k is a 5k run along the beautiful, paved trails of Independence Grove Forest Preserve. 100% of the registration price will go directly to the "Who Says I Can't Foundation," which will use 100% of the money for the rehabilitation of those who became amputees because of the tragic bombing at the 2013 Boston Marathon. Check out our website for more details.
Our 5k will begin at 9am at the Visitor's Center of Independence Grove Forest Preserve. All runners will receive a gender-specific shirt and a commemorative water bottle as a finisher's award.
For those who are not close to the Chicagoland Area we are offering a 'Virtual 5k' option. You can register for the 'Virtual 5k' and run a 5k on Saturday, June 15. You can report your time to us and you will be included on the official 'Virtual 5k' results list on our homepage. All virtual runners will be mailed their gender-specific shirt.
There is also an option to purchase a commemorative water bottle and extra t-shirts. Each purchase price will cover the price of the water bottle or shirt and postage, and include a $5 donation to our charity.
Registration fees are only $30 for the 5k and $26.2 for the 'Virtual 5k.' Online registration will close on Monday, June 10 at 11:55pm CST or when the race is sold out. Because of permitting issues, the race is capped at the first 400 runners. Registration for the virtual 5k is not capped.
You are able to donate on the online registration page and will be able to donate on site.
We will have packet pick-up information and a course map posted on our website shortly.
When & Where
We love people. We love Chicago. We love trail running. And we love good beer. We thought it would be a good idea to combine them all. Why not, right?
Our goal is to provide Chicagoland with the best possible trail running experience. From the course design to the staff at the aid stations to the beer served at the after party, our #1 goal is for you to have the best time possible.
We are partnering with local small businesses in the Chicagoland area to start a series of trail races beginning in the fall of 2012.
Hope to see you on the trail soon!
