Rules to Practice By: Ethics and professional behavior in mental health settings (6 CEUs)

Ethical awareness is a necessary part of the professional practice of any social worker. The ability to act ethically is an essential aspect of the quality of the service offered to clients. The NASW Code of Ethics is intended to serve as a guide to the everyday professional conduct of social workers.

Whether you are a social worker, clinical psychologist, or professional counselor, you are responsible for upholding the standards set forth by the profession in providing competent and ethical care. This course focuses on developing a knowledge of both ethics and values-based practice in mental health and is applicable to any licensed mental health professional.

Training Course Objectives:

• Appreciate the importance of ethical conduct in mental health settings
• Understand the NASW Code of Ethics in relation to the law and workplace policy
• Identify ethical problems in the workplace through real-world examples
• Gain practical skills in how to make ethical decisions
• Recognize and carry out ethical responsibilities in accordance with NASW standards

CE APPROVAL

* Social Workers: Will to Health is an approved provider of continuing education by the National Association of Social Workers, which includes approval in all states except New York, West Virginia, and Michigan. Please click the links for more details. * Maryland Psychologists: The following organizations and their approved CE sponsors are authorized sponsors of continuing education acceptable to the Board: National Association of Social Workers. Maryland COMAR 10.36.02.06. * Texas Psychologists: At least half of the required 20 hours must be obtained from or endorsed by a provider listed in Board rule 461.11(c)(3), which includes formally organized groups providing professional development that is directly related to the practice of psychology, such providers professional associations relating to other mental health professions such as psychiatry, counseling, or social work. * Other Professions: These educational offerings qualify for 6 continuing education hours as required by many national, state and local licensing boards and professional organizations. Please save your course outline and certificate of completion, and contact your board for specific filing requirements.

What is the refund policy?

To receive a transfer credit to a future workshop of equal or lesser value ONLY, cancellations must be made at least 72 hours prior to the start date of workshop. Any cancellations made less than 72 hours of the start date of workshop will only be eligible for a transfer PLUS will be subject to $50 administrative fee/transfer fee.
