RULES OF THE ROAD: ROADWAY ASSESSMENTS, ESCORT VEHICLES AND FLAGGER TRAINING
March 10-11, 2021
Up to 7 Professional Development Hours Available
Transportation safety is paramount within the natural gas industry as regulations and processes constantly change. Join state police, regulators, construction managers, engineers and others within the industry for a two-day virtual training.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s Publication 213 requires all personnel who have flagging responsibilities on public roadways in Pennsylvania to be trained and certified per Publication 408, Section 901.3. On day 1, attendees will participate in a comprehensive instructor-led flagger training course and must pass a 20-question exam. Upon course completion, attendees will be provided with a customized verification card and all training materials to train their own flagger employees.
On Day 2, industry experts and representatives from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) will provide roadway assessment regulatory updates on the process required to assess, bond and close out roadways after use. Additionally, PennDOT will review the current Highway Occupancy Permit (HOP) requirements for the industry and future updates to the program. To close out the day, the Pennsylvania State Police will provide details on the use of escort vehicles, an overview of the Certified Escort Policy for Superloads, and some informative do’s and don’ts.
