Call for Proposals
Ruby Conference Kenya 2015 will take place in Nairobi, Kenya on May 8th through May 9th, 2015. We will be accepting talk proposals from March 30th through April 25th, 2015. Due to the competitive nature of the selection process, we encourage you to submit your proposal as early as possible. RubyConfKe is a single-track conference with two days of talks. This means that the number of proposals we can accept is limited to the number of talks we can comfortably fit in two days. Don't be disappointed if your proposal isn't accepted!
Submit a Proposal
You must have an account to create a proposal. You may sign in with your GitHub or Twitter account. You may submit many proposals, but due to the limited number of available speaking slots, we will accept a maximum of one proposal per speaker.
Guidelines for Proposals
All speakers are required to adhere to RubyConfKe code of conduct. We will reject any proposals that do not appear to be in good taste. We encourage you to submit proposals that cover a wide variety of skill levels and a wide variety of topics. Our selection committee will attempt to create a program that is enjoyable for everyone by choosing talks that are aimed at beginners,Entreprenuers, seasoned Ruby developers, and people who know how to bootstrap Ruby 2.2.1
Mentoring and review assistance
Ruby Conference Kenya 2015 starts two day, single track format, targeting 300 people. Speaking to an audience of this size can be daunting. To assist speakers, we will be providing experienced mentors from our community to help mentor and review presentations.
Diversity
We strongly encourage diversity at our events. We will be actively soliciting proposals from a variety of potential speakers. Not all speaking slots at the conference will be filled by this CFP. rubyconfKe reserves the right to invite speakers who have not submitted proposals in order to create a conference that is more enjoyable, more informative, and more inclusive.
