The objective of this workshop is to allow the audience use the tools spatial econometrics (Cross section) using the statistical language R. This course will be an introduction to the methods used for regression of spatial data. We will briefly review the statistical concepts behind the analysis, but a basic knowledge of statistics and regression analysis is necessary.
Participants are encouraged to bring their laptop for use in the workshop tutorial sessions with R installed. The workshop is designed to be hands-on, and no previous experience on R is required.
You can download R from CRAN (http://cran.r-project.org) and select the appropriate operating system.

We will cover:

  • Types of Spatial Econometric Models
  • Create the Weight Matrix
  • Estimation methods Maximum likelihood and GMM.
