We’ll train you how to be an effective citizen advocate for the issues that are important to you. And we’ll walk with you through your first steps making sure your voice is heard at the Texas Capitol.

The day’s agenda will include:

9:00 am - Welcome / Orientation

9:30 - 11:45 - Training Sessions

Topics to Include:

• How to track legislation

• Tips for effective advocacy with elected legislators

• Getting the right message to the right committee

12:00 - 1:30 - Lunch at the Capitol Grille ( Dutch Treat! )

1:45 - 2:45 - Small Group Tours of the Texas Capitol

3:00 - Visits with your legislator/other legislator offices

This FREE EVENT is a hosted by Republican Party of Texas and is designed to empower and mobilize the grassroots Texas citizens.

Parking is limited for all meeting rooms in the Capitol Complex. Limited on-street parking is available adjacent to the Texas Capitol. Parking is also available at the Visitors' Parking Garage at 13th and San Jacinto.

Public transportation is available from the Austin airport to the Capitol (including a bus that leaves the airport every half-hour for $1.75 each way)
