Join Rochester Public Schools (RPS) educators and technology leaders for a robust day of professional development centered around technology and innovation in the classroom. Your experience will include a small group tour of two elementary schools along with break out sessions of your choice at both sites. The day will begin at Gage Elementary followed by lunch and special remarks from a keynote speaker at Gage. Your day will continue with transportation to Longfellow 45/15 Elementary where you will once again have small group tours as well as your choice of break out sessions.
About the schools:
Gage Elementary houses several programs including STEManities, Spanish Immersion, Robotics, Coding and is also a full-service community school.
Longfellow Elementary is our extendend calendar district-wide school (45/15 calendar) and is an Apple Distinguished Program. Longfellow was our first school to offer a 1:1 learning environment and has been 1:1 for 5 years. Longfellow offers Makers Space, Robotics, Coding and a plethora of knowledge in the area of 1:1 usage.
A few logistics:
Due to parking constraints at both schools, we will provide a shuttle from Pax Christi Church (18th Ave NW, Rochester, MN 55901) at 8 am. You will also receive a shuttle from Gage Elementary (after lunch) to Longfellow 45/15 Elementary. Your day will conclude at 3 pm - with a shuttle ride back to Pax Christi Church.
