Description

Knowing how to make a roux is one of the most useful kitchen tips you will learn! Join Chef Mona Fuqua of Je Ne Sais Fuqua LLC as she helps you start with the basics of a good roux and why it's important to sauces. You will also learn how to adjust the roux to be gluten-free. Then, you will develop one of the five "mother" sauces and how to modify each for certain recipes. Lastly, you will turn your sauces into servable meals.

About Your Instructor

Mona Bronson-Fuqua is CEO and Chef of Je Nais Se Fuqua LLC. After many years working in the communication field, Mona returned to her first love of culinary arts attending classes through Cincinnati Cooks at the FreeStore/Foodbank and completing her degree in Culinary Management through Cincinnati State. Currently, she combines her culinary passion with a desire to help others overcome food insecurities as a chef instructor for Cooking for the Family through St. Francis Seraph Ministries. “I have been excited to learn that the only thing I love as much as cooking is the joy of helping students discover new foodways and recover a hands-on experience with meal preparation.” - Mona
