Event description

Description

On behalf of the Central Oregon Natural Resources Career Pathways Network, we invite you to participate in our 2020 Round Table Series. The goal of the Round Table Series is to promote the exchange of information and ideas between Central Oregon’s Natural Resource stakeholders.

Our second event will focus on Training Programs in Natural Resources. Presenters will share information about Central Oregon programs for youth and young adults that provide job training and exposure to potential careers in the natural resources sector. The presentation will be followed by a facilitated discussion, connecting these programs to employers and educators. Presenters include:

  • Tyler McRae: Summer Programs Manager with Heart of Oregon Corps
  • Stacey Cochran: Community Engagement Director with Discover Your Forest
  • Josh Lagalo: Youth Employment Program Manager with Central Oregon Intergovernmental Council

What is the 2020 Round Table Series?

The goal of the 2020 Round Table Series is to promote the exchange of information and ideas between Central Oregon’s Natural Resource stakeholders. Each month, we will facilitate a conversation around one of eight topics:

  1. Workforce Trends in Natural Resources
  2. Natural Resource Training Programs
  3. Federal and Tribal Government Needs and Opportunities
  4. Private Sector Needs and Opportunities
  5. Secondary Education Viewpoints and Outlook
  6. State and Local Government Needs and Opportunities
  7. Post-Secondary Viewpoints and Outlook
  8. Youth & Young Adult Needs and Viewpoints (students & alumni from NR Training Programs)

Stay up to date on all of the Round Table Series dates and locations at childrensforestco.org/round-table-2020

What can you Expect?

The Network will invite topic experts to present and take part in facilitated discussions that are open to anyone in the natural resource community, including employers, training programs, and educators. Members of the community are invited to take part in any/all Round Table discussions, as they are designed to inform the entire natural resource community. After each discussion, we will share insights and outcomes from the Round Table discussion in a monthly newsletter that will be shared throughout the natural resource community in Central Oregon.
