The first step in any woodworking project is dimensioning your stock. Lucky for you there are four tools specifically designed to take rough sawn lumber and process it into boards that are straight, flat, and true! The miter saw, band saw, jointer, and planer form a workflow that any woodworker interested in working with solid wood should know. This class will cover the maintenance and safe operation of these tools, and the techniques for using them to dimension rough stock.
Students will learn to process rough stock into boards that are straight, flat, and true using the miter saw, band saw, jointer, and planer. Topics will include safety, principles of operation, maintenance, and techniques for dimensioning and resawing.

Rough stock will be provided for students to practice on.
