Event description

Description

Take shelter from the rush hour in our Princess Alexandra Hall. The Rush Hour Concert Series promises to bring you a varied programme of excellent music from Beethoven to Gershwin; packaged into an hour, giving you a great excuse to miss the crowds and give you a tune or two to hum all the way home.

Choral works by Percy Grainger, one of the twentieth century's most intriguingly eclectic musicians, are the starting point for a concert inspired by the Australian's ardent internationalism. The programme ranges from folk-influenced pieces from the British isles to compositions by contemporary Baltic composers, revealing the beauty and surprising affinities in choral music from different cultures.
