Description

Come join us for our 3rd annual gala to benefit the wonderful and much needed work of The Guadalupe Free Clinic. We have a new venue and new name this year!

The Old Hickory Golf Club is an elegant, turn of the century style clubhouse with spectacular views of the golf course located in Lake Ridge, VA.

Once again, there will be a live and silent auction, music and dancing. King Teddy is returning this year to provide the music for the evening! There will be a special performance during the evening as well.

Open Wine/Beer Bar. Cocktail attire please. Open seating. Reserved seating for sponsored and memorialized tables.

Why Roses of Castile?

What is the significance of the Roses of Castile? Our Lady of Guadalupe is the patroness of the clinic and she appeared to St. Juan Diego in December, 1531 in Mexico. During his third visit to Bishop Zumarraga to give the bishop a sign of the authenticity of the apparitions, St JuanDiego unfurled his tilma (poncho). The tilma contained the miraculous image of Our Lady of Guadalupe (which is still enshrined in the basilica bearing her name in Mexico City). In it, St. Juan Diego had collected Castilian Roses per Our Lady's instructions. When Bishop Zumarraga saw the roses, he knew the apparitions were real: he hadn't seen roses from Castile since he had left his native Spain years earlier and until then, such roses did not grow in Mexico and never bloomed in December. The rose is not only a sign of our Lady (under the title Mystical Rose) but is also a symbol of the pro-life movement.
