Roots of Storytelling
Event Information
About this Event
Oral storytelling through prose, poetry, and song is an ancient tradition found in all corners of the world. For generations, across many cultures, we have used the art of storytelling to weave memory into myth as an act of both preservation and constructive self-affirmation. Storytelling through the spoken word is the source of what we now know as written language, and for many of us, beats from the very core of who we are. As we gather together at campfires, feasts, and celebrations, we birth a shared history merged from the source legends of our communities. Join our diverse fellowship of bards during National Poetry Month as we pay homage to our roots!
