Roots of Change: Reaching Back-Moving Forward (January 18, 2021-March 13, 2021)

About this Event

The Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County in collaboration with Ellington-White Contemporary Gallery presents a National Art Exhibition that investigates "Roots of Change" in traditional and contemporary Black American Visual Art. The exhibition will run concurrently in galleries at both the Arts Council and the Ellington-White, CDC in Downtown Fayetteville, North Carolina.

Roots of Change: Reaching Back-Moving Forward is a National Black Art Exhibition investigating traditional and contemporary ideas in Black visual art. Artists explore the politics of racial identity and historical memory through their visual practice. They examine, interrogate, and reflect on dominate past and present cultural narratives of black experiences.
