Saxophonist and vocalist - Perpetual Awele Atife, is a multi award-winning artist, composer, arranger and producer who blends the Jazz idiom with Western Classical and African indigenous music. Known for her spirited sold out performances, Perpie is one of the leading live music Artists that connects beautifully with the richly diverse Calgary audience of both Canadians, Africans in the Diaspora and the broader community. Thank you so much for being part of Roots in Motion: A JazzTale Project. This event was created to inspire hope during a time of global unrest — and with that same mission in mind, I’m honoured to share that we are partnering with The Mustard Seed to support those experiencing hardship right here in Calgary.

The Mustard Seed is a Christian non-profit organization that provides care, resources, and support to individuals facing poverty and homelessness. At the concert, we’ll be collecting essential winter items, hygiene products, and monetary donations to help our neighbours in need. In addition, 5% of all ticket sales will be donated directly to The Mustard Seed.

This partnership is especially personal to me. As someone who has experienced houselessness multiple times in my life, I know firsthand how a single act of kindness — a warm item, a meal, a smile — can restore dignity and hope.

So please join us on November 29 as we extend that same gift of hope to both our attendees and our downtown neighbours. Every blanket, every travel-sized item, every dollar truly makes a difference.
