We are thrilled to launch our new event ‘Rooted’ - a collaborative showcase of some of Sheffield's best grassroots Reggae sound systems, selectors & DJs.
Grassroots means growing from the ground up - no shortcuts, no hype, just real culture. That’s why we’re Rooted: deep in community, grounded in sound, and always reaching for new heights.
What started as an idea for an end-of-summer reggae party at Hagglers Corner quickly grew into something bigger. Four local reggae collectives - Abzu, Burning Bug, Dubcentral & Gruff’N’Low, came together and got to work.
We decided to go beyond just throwing together a party - we created a new collaborative event -Rooted. Designed to showcase Reggae culture and the depth of talent that Sheffield has to offer, all for an affordable ticket price.
The venue - Hagglers Corner - is a much-loved independent venue in Sheffield: a creative hub that supports independent music, local artists, and community-led events. With a courtyard, café, record shop, and upstairs event space, it brings together music, art, food, and wellness under one roof.
Starting at 3pm, we'll be covering three areas of the venue until late into the night. Travel from the Courtyard to the Attikk and the Main Bar on a journey through conscious music ranging from Roots Reggae, Dub, Steppas and Dancehall all the way to Hip Hop, Afrobeats, and World Music.
