Event description

Description

If you have been recently hired for an on campus job at Roosevelt University and this will be your very first job working on campus, you will need to attend onboarding. If you've attended onboarding before, you do not need to attend again.

Please know that onboarding is required for all new hires and must be completed before you begin to work. If you begin to work before onboarding is completed, your paychecks will be withheld until onboarding has been completed.

Onboarding consists of reviewing student employment policies, reviewing various student employment processes, filling out income tax forms, verifying employment eligiblity, and enrolling in direct deposit (optional). Please be sure to do and bring the following items to onboarding as these are required in order to fully complete onboarding. Failure to bring all items will require you to come to another session.

1. Complete the online I-9 form by going to newi9.com. Roosevelt University's employer code is 13955. You do not need to print this form or bring it to onboarding, but you do need to have it complete before your session.

2. Bring original forms (no copies and must not be expired) of the following items:

2.1 If you are a US Citizen bring either...

  • Your US Passport OR...
  • Government ID/Driver's License + Social Secuirty Card (SSN) OR....
  • Government ID/Driver's License + Birth Certificate

2.2 If you are a US Resident (Green Cardholder) bring either...

  • Your Permanent Resident Card (I-551) OR...
  • Employment Authorization Document (EAD/I-776)

2.3 If you are an International Student bring all of the following items...

  • Foreign Passport
  • I-20
  • I-94 or I-94A
  • Social Security Card (SSN) (if you have one)

3. International students, complete the on campus work authorization form for the Office of International Programs: https://na2.docusign.net/Member/PowerFormSigning.aspx?PowerFormId=33d82248-35a1-48bc-ad39-7aaa5415358b

4. Optional for all students, if you'd like to enroll in direct deposit, you will need to bring a blank check from your bank in order to enroll. If you do not have checks, you may visit your bank in person or check their website for a "Direct deposit form" which can be provided in place of a check. You must bring either the check or the form in order to properly enroll in direct depositing, if you do not, you will not be able to enroll and will have to enroll at another time. (Direct deposit is electronic transferring of your paycheck to your bank account, rather than receiving a check in person and taking it to your bank to deposit, this process is done automatically by having Roosevelt University send your paychecks directly to your bank)

To summarize, if you are a US citizen you should have completed 1, 2.1, and 4. For US residents you should have completed 1, 2.2, and 4. For international students you should have completed 1, 2.3, 3, and 4.

Please arrive early or on time to onboarding, if you arrive late, you may not be allowed in and may be forced to reshedule. Plan on each session being an hour in duration.
