Fri, March 31, 2017, 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM EDT
Please join the Boston Chapter of Room to Read and Harpoon Brewery as we raise money for literacy and gender-equality in education in the developing world.
Stop by before your regular Friday evening plans and enjoy a Harpoon beer tasting for a good cause! A $20 donation is suggested, but give what you can! You can donate at the door, or to streamline the process, see donation options below.
There will be a silent auction, including a beautiful Seville laptop bag from Lo & Sons. Stay tuned for the announcement of additional exciting items. 100% of the proceeds will go directly to Room to Read.
About Room to Read
Room to Read seeks to transform the lives of millions of children in developing countries by focusing on literacy and gender equality in education. Working in collaboration with local communities, partner organizations and governments, we develop literacy skills and a habit of reading among primary school children, and support girls to complete secondary school with the relevant life skills to succeed in school and beyond.
We’re people from around the world, from diverse industries, who are passionate about education. Taking best practices from our diverse disciplines, we live our values by improving lives. We’re personally invested in the nations where we work; from places like Tanzania and South Africa to Bangladesh and Cambodia, 87% of us are from the countries where we work.
We maximize our resources and hold ourselves accountable to our partner communities, investors, and internal stakeholders. We set ambitious, measurable goals and track them. Ever a learning organization, we take calculated risks and use creativity to accomplish goals. And we build upon our partnerships to grow sustainably and create systemic change around the world.
