ABOUT THE ARTIST & SHOW:
Ron Renninger, a veteran of the East coast acoustic music scene, found early success as a teenager in the 1960’s after landing a recording contract with his first band. After moving to NY’s Greenwich Village, Ron soon expanded his musical horizons by rubbing elbows and jamming with such greats as David Bromberg, Jorma Kaukonen, Doc Watson, Buzz Feiten, Tim Hardin, Taj Mahal. Chuck Berry, Santana and Jimi Hendrix. Dividing his time between Northern CA, Woodstock, NY, Manhattan and Vermont, Ron would soon begin honing his distinctive singing and songwriting skills. Along the way he found success composing music for primetime network TV shows as well as becoming a sought after studio musician on NY’s highly competitive recording circuit. Since then, Ron Renninger has shared the stage with Richie Havens, Lucinda Williams, Jesse Colin Young, John Hammond Jr., Lucy Kaplansky, Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee and Christine Lavin.
He has performed at countless venues and festivals from Tampa to Tokyo to London; from Colorado’s Telluride Bluegrass Festival to NYC's Bottom Line Club.
Ron is a true “crowd pleaser”, “terrific vocals, and stunning guitar work", with an "easygoing rapport and an obvious joy from performing".
