Event description

Description

The Rollins Women's Lacrosse Prospect Camp is offered to rising 9th-12th graders only (2020’s-2023’s). This camp is for those recruits with a serious interest in attending Rollins College. Just like choosing the right college is a BIG decision for you, choosing the right recruits can be a BIG decision for us too. Our lacrosse family has a very “unique” personality. The best way for us (and for you), to figure out if it is the right fit is to attend camp. Working with you allows us to assess your coachability, work ethic, and attitude. At the same time, it allows you the chance to learn about our coaching personality and philosophy.

The Rollin’s Women’s Lacrosse Program is one of the premier lacrosse teams in the nation. Having advanced to 2 NCAA Semi-Finals and producing a list of All Region and All-American players, including the DII Defensive Player of the Year, South Region Midfielder of the Year, South Region Goalie of the Year, 2x Asst. Coach of the Year, and South Region Coach of the Year.

Our Prospect Camp is based on the following player principles:

Intensity: We give 100 percent effort & attention to detail.

Engagement: We are emotionally immersed in the tasks we take on. We know what we have to do, & it feels like a game.

Practicality: We practice exactly the skill that we’ll be using later, in the same way that we’ll be using it in “game situations”

Repetitions: We embrace the value of repetitions, especially for the most challenging skills.

Clarity: We understand the day’s goal, and where it fits in the larger picture.

Reachfulness: We are pushed to spend time on the edge of our abilities, struggling & reaching just past our current competence.
