Event description
Based on the research of Dr. Brené, Dare to Lead™ Quincy offered by Julie Boll Consulting is an empirically based courage-building program.

About this Event

The Regional Office of Education #1 is proud to host TWO Dare to Lead™ workshops for regional educators. Based on the research of Dr. Brené, Dare to Lead™ offered by Julie Boll Consulting is an empirically based courage-building program. The Dare to Lead™ program is designed for individuals and teams who are ready to embrace brave leadership, shed their armor, and show up with whole hearts in their work and life.

Why do we need more courageous leadership in our communities? Brave leaders model vulnerability and courage in the workplace, which fuels innovation and creativity.

Brown's definition of a leader is: anyone who holds him or herself responsible or accountable for finding potential in people or processes.

To scale daring leadership and build courage in teams and organizations, we must cultivate a culture in which brave work, tough conversations, and whole hearts are the expectation, and armor is not necessary or rewarded. This workshop, held in the Regional Office of Education service territory, gives you the time and space you need to explore and understand the concepts presented in Brené's research, while also providing a safe space to practice the tools needed for courageous leadership. In addition to receiving a certificate of completion, individuals who complete the 16-hour program may put the Dare to Lead™ Trained badge on their LinkedIn account.

Brené is a research professor at the University of Houston where she holds the Huffington Foundation – Brené Brown Endowed Chair at The Graduate College of Social Work. She has spent the past two decades studying courage, vulnerability, shame, and empathy, and most recently completed a seven-year study on courageous leadership. She is the author of five #1 New York Times bestsellers: The Gifts of Imperfection, Daring Greatly, Rising Strong, Braving the Wilderness, and Dare to Lead, which also debuted at #1 on The Wall Street Journal and Publisher’s Weekly list.
