Legendary Pitmaster, and friend of La Cocina's, Rodney Scott, of Scott's BBQ, in Hemingway, South Carolina, lost his pits in a fire in November. The Fatback Collective has since launched a Rodney in Exile tour to raise the $100,000 that he will need to rebuild and bring his pits up to code. For an afternoon, Chef Ryan Farr, of 4505 Meats, with some support from his La Cocina friends Sugarfoot Grits and Minnie Bell's Catering, will host a whole-hog cookout in the parking lot of his new pits, with all proceeds going directly to support Rodney's rebuild.

Prices are per/plate and will include whole hog as well as a couple of sides. Come for the food, of course, but show up for an investment in keeping whole hog cookery not simply alive but flourishing in Hemingway, South Carolina.
