Come join us for a fantastic weekend at the US Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
We are excited to be welcoming teachers from the community this year in addition to our CAP Aerospace Education officers from around the organization. The curriculum was designed for the growing field of STEM education in mind by Kaye Ebelt, an Einstein Fellow and 2016 recipient of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST).
This will be a world class program unlike any other for both teachers and our own members. We will be focused on engineering as a growth field in both aerospace and STEM education. Our keynote speaker will be Mr. Frank Hughes, retired Chief of Space Flight Training for NASA and current Vice President of Training Products for Tietronix Software, Inc. With his experience beginning with the Gemini program through to the Space Shuttle, and a leading industry expert in STEM, this is not one to miss.
Guest lecturers will include Dr. Benton Milspaugh, who developed the current CAP Aerospace Education curriculum, Mrs. Crystal Bloemen, and others with exciting, practical education ideas for the classroom.
Teachers: We plan to provide continuing education credit as part of this program.
CAP Members: Earn much needed credit towards the Senior rating in Aerospace Education. Participant registration is only open to Senior members at this time.
Please note: ALL REGISTRATIONS MUST BE COMPLETE FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS BY NOVEMBER 16, 2016. This is a hard date to allow for security screening with the Air Force Academy; no exceptions will be made.
Lodging will be at the Academy, (719) 472-1940, for $60 per night (subjet to change in the new fiscal year) with event transportation provided by CAP. Further details will be in the acceptance packet.
