On Tuesday, October 8th, 101 Beer Kitchen will be hosting Rockmill Brewery as part of the 2013 Beer Dinner Series. Rockmill, situated just outside Lancaster, started brewing in 2010 with a line of four handcrafted Belgian Beers, under the direction of Matthew Barbee. These classic styles are difficult to brew and require the upmost care and attention to detail. The Rockmill farm is the perfect birthplace for such a portfolio as Matthew found that the water profile at the headwaters of the Hocking River was almost identical to the mineral content in Wallonia, Belgium. Recently, he has added two barrel aged beers to the portfolio through a collaboration with Middle West Spirits and OYO in the Short North. Executive Chef Mike Frame will be designing a five course dinner to pair with 5 Rockmill beers. Matthew will be on hand to talk about his beer and the progress of their recent expansion. You will be seeing a lot more Rockmill beer on tap in the near future so come get the insider's scoops before everyone else.
