Event description

Description

Bristol Samaritans Benefit Gig "Rock4Life"

The Thunderbolt Pub, Bath Road, Bristol (5 mins from TempleMeads)
12pm-late, Saturday August 19th

£6 entrance fee, with all proceeds going to the support the work of the Bristol branch of the Samaritans.

There will be music of a variety of genres, childrens entertainers and garden games in the beer garden and a BBQ!

We are looking to get 200 people through the doors on the day. So invite friends, family and anyone else you'd like to spend some time with in a pub with a garden listening to music on a nice August Saturday afternoon. And all for a great cause.

Thank You

Who are the Samaritans?
From their branch in the centre of Bristol the Samaritans provide confidential emotional support, all day and night, every day of the year to those in need of a safe space to talk over problems, feelings, stress or anything that maybe worrying them, especially those in extreme despair.

The branch is run solely on donations and is independent so all money raised in Bristol goes to this branch. You really can help your community directly when you raise money for it.

During 2014 their 160 trained volunteers took over 58,900 contacts for support by phone, email, text and face to face visits in our branch. I should say that 80% of their calls do not express suicidal thoughts, but need a space to talk.

They also provide talks for community groups, schools and other organisations interested in our work. They have partnerships with many local organisations, including local health services, HM Prison Bristol, HM Prison Eastwood Park, CRUSE and SARI.
