Frequently asked questions

How will profit from the event be used?

Glasgow Rowing Club is a voluntary not-for-profit organisation run by it's members. Boats, the club building and safety equipment all cost money. Rock and Row'll helps pay to keep the club running, helps make links within the community, supports disabled sports and helps keep people fit.

Is it possible to row into the city centre?

Not Easily! There is a weir that means that boats have to launched closer to the city centre. However you can row many miles up towards Strathclyde Park.

What type of people go rowing on the Clyde

We have all types of people from young teenagers and schools through to veterans of all types, ages and groups. Some people take up rowing to get fit and compete while others take it up for the banter and the fun. Some just want to see a bit more of the river!

Will I be able to find out about how to learn to row on the Clyde if I visit the pop concert?

Yep. That's what we do. We row singles, doubles, pairs, quads and eights along one of the most beautiful rivers in the UK. There will be lots of rowers around listening and dancing to the music and happy to talk to you about rowing on the beautiful Clyde River.

Is the Clyde a clean river?

The river is full of fish and there is often a fresh water seal next to the Rowing Club. If you like wildlife then rowers often see foxes and occasional kingfishers.

Why is the cost £11.55 rather than the £10 fee

Eventbrite offers a fantastic service. They make it really easy to advertise and organise an event, manage the tickets, take payments and allow people to find out about what is on. All this costs money. The £1.55 added to the ticket costs pays Eventbrite for the service.
