Robotics (Session B)
Mon, Jun 26, 2017, 12:00 PM – Fri, Jun 30, 2017, 2:30 PM EDT
This course teaches students the fundamentals of robotics through the new Lego Mindstorms EV3 line. Students will build an autonomous robot, with motors and sensors, to complete real world tasks and challenges. In these challenges students will learn how to program and implement touch, color, and ultrasonic sensors. These challenges include one where students must figure out how to navigate a maze and another one where students must get their robot to read and react to a traffic signal. By the end of this workshop students will have an understanding of how to design, build, and program robots. The culminating project will require students to apply their new found knowledge of mechanics, robotic construction, sensors, and programming to compete in a “Sumo-Bot” challenge.
