Join three Bay Area startup communities for an exciting pitch night around Robotics, Hardware and IoT!

For the first time, we're bringing together Startup Basecamp, LSE Startup Hub SF Chapter in the Bay Area and our community partner SingularityU San Francisco Chapter for a fun shark-tank-style event where startups will have the opportunity to pitch to top Silicon Valley Investors, get feedback on their pitch and connect with the three communities in the space.

Expect drinks, an awesome crowd and endless opportunities to connect with the best people in the space in a fun environment!

We are looking for 5 startups in Robotics, Hardware, IoT to pitch at this event. To apply, please email: info@startupbasecamp.org with your name, linkedin profile url and pitch deck. The deadline is November 15. All startups will be notified the following week.




Format & Agenda:

There will be 4 VC Judges who will provide feedback and select a winner among 5 Startups pitching throughout the evening.

6:00 - 6:30 PM: Registration and Networking

6:30 - 6:40 PM: Welcome and Judges Introductions

6:45 - 7:45 PM: Startup Pitches & Feedback

7:45 - 8:00 PM: Winner Announced

8:00 - 8:30 PM: Networking Drinks




Judges:

Valery Komissarova, Principal at Grishin Robotics

Valery Komissarova is a Principal at Grishin Robotics (a $100M fund) who invested in Ring, Zipline, Sphero, Spire, Starship, and eero among others. Valery is also a mentor at Highway1 providing early-stage hardware startups with crucial insights into the hardware investment landscape. She previously was a Mentor at Qualcomm Robotics Accelerator by Techstars and Head of Public Relations for Mail.ru, the largest internet company in Russia that controls three largest Russian social networking sites and is valued at $4.7 billion.

Nicole Quinn, Partner at Lightspeed Venture Partners

Nicole Quinn focuses on investments in consumer technology with particular interest in brands, commerce, social media, video, fintech and marketplaces. Nicole started working with brands over 10 years ago and has specialized in consumer behavior, the retail landscape both in the U.S. and Europe and taking brands to the public market. Prior to Lightspeed, she worked on branding and marketing at Nutmeg, a London based Fintech startup focused on online wealth management for millennials. Earlier, Nicole spent eight years covering consumer, eCommerce and brands at Morgan Stanley on the equity sales and research side. She worked on the IPOs for Facebook, Groupon and Pandora.

Kelly Coyne, Founder and Partner at Grit Labs

Kelly Coyne is a seasoned startup executive and highly sought after talent in the hardware space. Kelly served at the helm of marketing for several early-stage hardware companies (Lily, Mimosa and Candl) and advised many others through her firm, Pitch Market. Kelly has broad technology experience, but specializes in guiding Robotics, AI, AR/VR and Computer Vision companies from concept to launch. She is the co-founder of Grit Labs, a Seed stage AI-based Robotics fund.

Jade Lai, Investor, PlayGround Global

Jade Lai is an investor at Playground Global, a $800M venture fund and startup studio focused on investing in early-stage, deep tech companies. Some investments include Nervana Systems (acquired by Intel), Righthand Robotics, Lighthouse AI, Nauto, stealth 3D metal printing, and stealth quantum computing company. As the second employee of Playground, she works closely with founders and Playground's world class engineers working on product strategy, team building, fundraising and go-to-market. She spends most of her time in the enterprise/ industrial sector with a particular interest in companies applying robotics and full-stack AI solutions to specific verticals.
