STEM …Start at the Top

RoboCup Junior is the top listed STEM Competition according to Australia’s Chief Scientist. Get into STEM with the top game and the Robocup Junior Founding Chair, Brian Thomas. Brian has now spent almost 20 years introducing learners and equipping more experienced users in the Robocup Junior Challenges. Spend a day with Brian and you will leave feeling ready to take the next step, no matter where your starting point is. Brian will share his extensive robotics teaching experience of 30 years in how to incorporate tips and techniques that are invaluable when teaching LEGO Mindstorms EV3 in a robotics classroom.

Robot Soccer will be used to extend participants knowledge of EV3 programming to the expert stage in the classroom. Participants will not only learn how to play robot soccer but also gain numerous handy tips to get to the top levels of the game.

  • Detect an infra red transmitting soccer ball
  • Chase the ball
  • Optimize you robot for ball chase
  • Ball Kick
  • Kick in the right direction using the compass. (for more advanced users)
