About the musical:
A Tragedy in 5 Acts
Robin never really learned to read or write too well, but still, she's robbing the rich and she's raising some hell.
Recently back from Afghanistan in the early 2000s, Robin B. Goode is about to marry the girl of her dreams when she's falsely accused of treason and her land is seized by the sheriff. Rather than submit to yet another injustice at the hands of the powerful and wealthy, she flees to the woods, gathers a band of outlaws, and steals from the rich to give to the poor. Together, her band awaits the return of the rightful Governor, who will restore justice to Colorado.
This piece combines American folk music and dance traditions with poetry and the much-loved ballads of Robin Hood. As inequality grows, greed reigns and the law turns to serve the wealthy, the outlaw from the greenwood may be the hero our country needs.
Robin B. Goode is written by Peter Storey, with music arranged by Jeremy Van Cleave. This is being performed in the Chelsea Theatre Works blackbox as part of a collaboration of Resident Artists, Lily Kaufman, Jeremy Van Cleave, and Peter Storey. Directed by Cameron Gosselin.
Please note that the performance on January 20th is an invited dress rehearsal.
*Vaccination or negative test from the day of performance is required. Audience members must wear masks at all times in the building and temperatures will be checked at the door.
