Event description

Description

Described as “one of the best acoustic pickers on the scene today,” Cary Morin brings together the great musical traditions of America and beyond like no other. With deft fingerstyle guitar and vocals that alternately convey melodic elation and gritty world-weariness, Morin crafts an inimitable style often characterized as acoustic Native Americana with qualities of blues, bluegrass, jazz, jam, reggae, and dance.

American Mojo is the record of Cline’s journey ,not only to this place, but the documentary of his baptsm as a Troubadour in the room of American music. This journey has taken him across the country: from the crossroads of the Litle Goose River in the Big Horn Mountains, across the plains of Kansas, through Texas, Louisiana and beyond. As Cline followed the songs, they led him to a new home at the banks of the Tennessee River. Cline was inspired, challenged, and humbled by the spirit of the people which lef him to fnd his Mojo! Robert Cline Jr. began his musical career as a collaboraton with the members of The Subdudes, both in studio and on stage. John Magnie produced Cline’s debut album All The Right Reasons (2012.) Since startng his solo career, Cline has shared the stage with greats such as Buzz Cason, Shelley King, and The Drive-By Truckers. His new album, American Mojo, recorded in Muscle Shoals, only adds to the list of legends Cline has been privileged to work with. The Mus-cle Shoals Rhythm Secton (aka The Swampers) lend their unique sound to the album. Spooner Oldham, Earl Peanut Montgomery, Gary Nichols, and many more contributed on the project. The result is a solid, freshly-traditonal American roots album with deeply personal songs fusing country, rock, and blues. 1. Leaving This Town (2:55)
