ROB FLAX

Jenn Cornell / Michelle Winters

*************************************************************

Rob Flax

Multi-instrumentalist Rob Flax describes his music in a concise way: “I play things with strings, I hit stuff, and I sing.” Behind this simple tag line lies a rich depth of genre-bending, from classical and jazz violin to bluegrass fiddle, to blues and rock influences, and beyond. In his “One Man Band” shows, Rob uses a looper pedal and other effects to transform his violin into an entire symphony of sounds. Rob is a recent graduate of the New England Conservatory, where he received his master’s degree in Contemporary Improvisation, and he currently lives in Boston.

Jenn Cornell

Jenn Cornell is a cellist performance artist that plays with a spirit that bursts into an ecstatic dance of instrument and body. The outcome is a sensation of joy that emanates from her performances and her instrument.

Jenn attended the University of Georgia on a 4 year music scholarship and completed advanced studies at the Academia Musicale Chigiana, Sienna, Italy. This led to her touring Europe, Asia and the U.S. performing in halls like the Seoul Arts Center and the Moscow International Auto Show.; as well as to teaching where she held master classes at schools and universities including the Museum of Making Music in Carlsbad, CA; Georgia Tech; and presently at the Community Music Centers of Atlanta where she mentors young musicians. Jenn recently wrote the string parts and recorded for double platinum, Billboard charting, rap artist B.O.B. on his album "Naga"; as well as, Michael Malarky (Vampire Diaries and Project Blue Book) on his new album and his single “Scars”. In addition, she appeared on the TV shows The Vampire Diaries and Dynasty where she performed cello on episodes for both.

Jenn has also composed for TV and film including music on PBS and most recently the original score for the film "Body and Son" presented by Atlanta based SourMilk.

Michelle Winters

One of Atlanta's most versatile musicians, Michelle Winters, Violinist, is a musician you’ll simply never forget. After spending many years practicing thousands of hours into strict classical violin, Michelle’s true passion surfaced when she discovered that playing to her favorite rock and pop artists couldn’t be held a secret anymore.

Feeling liberated from this transmutation, her animated passion of performing on the violin is equal to a rock star performing to thousands of die hard fans. Michelle absolutely loves being the life of the party and adores playing music from Led Zeppelin to Lady Gaga. She has been highly praised for her musical maturity and abilities to swiftly adjust without hesitations changes in tempo, key signature, genre, and more.

Michelle’s commitment to providing excellent music can be heard all the way from local restaurants to Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, where she was featured in the Atlanta Journal Constitution for soothing stressed travelers. She has performed for clients and notable people, such as Patricia Nash, Billi and Bernie Marcus, SunTrust Bank, Porsche, Terani Couture, and more. She can also be seen and heard in various television and movie mediums, such as local news stations to the film Pitch Perfect 3.
