Take your meditation off the cushion and into the beautiful outdoors; come for a mindful hike in a secluded part of the city. and let yourself be inspired and grounded in nature.
Each Roaming Zen event consists of mindful hiking, with an emphasis on quiet presence, some time for meditation at an auspicious location, and chances for discussion.
In this second series of Roaming Zen, so far we have covered three parts of the Golden Gate, from the heights of Land's End, the remote quiet of Mile Rock Beach, the eery legacy of the hill-top batteries above the bridge, to the waterfront crowds around Fort Point and Aquatic Park. We have also taken in the parks and stairs of Russian Hill with views in all directions.
The second season of Roaming Zen continues on Saturday, October 29th.
Please join me for the final scheduled hike of the season, as we ascend to the highest point in the city, Mount Davidson.
We will meet right at the entrance of West Portal Muni station, by the burrito place, at 1:30pm.
You are encouraged to come by public transportation, so that if you don't want to loop back to the starting point, you can just take off. Bring snacks and water, and layers to cope with whatever the weather decides to do. The routes will include challenging climbs and non-paved surfaces, so be prepared for that. Heavy rain will cause a cancelation. Please be punctual.
You can also just show up and pay me 'at the door'.
The remaining date currently scheduled is Sunday November 13th - Bicycle Roaming Zen in conjunction with Sunday Streets along the Embarcadero.
If the weather over the winter allows, I will offer some spur-of-the-moment roams. Please check my blog for details.
