Road to Creation: Reggae/Dub Production Session
Join us for a two-part music-making workshop exploring the deep grooves, rich heritage, and powerful storytelling at the heart of reggae and Black British culture.
Led by Sinead Campbell- a soulful singer-songwriter, featured artist on BBC Radio and Clash Magazine, founder of Rise Up Music. She has supported artists like Basement Jaxx, Soul II Soul and Pongo & is fresh off her debut UK tour- and Malik Morgan-Murphy, a dynamic session musician and producer who has collaborated with Grammy-winning artists and iconic R&B, Soul, Reggae and Hip-Hop acts- this workshop invites you to get hands-on and creative.
Part 1: Reggae/Dub Production Session. 2:30pm- 3:30pm Led by Malik Morgan-Murphy Build a beat from scratch, experiment with dub effects, and dive into the reggae sound system legacy that shaped a generation. Learn the production tools and rhythms behind this iconic genre- no experience necessary.
Come with an open heart. Whether you’ve got a direct connection to Caribbean culture, or simply a deep respect or curiosity, this space is for you.
